Well, I'm glad we played but I'm also glad it is over. I must say that we breezed through things much quicker and easier last night than I was expecting. Things definately felt thrown to the Heroes' favor by the end.
I think that ending at about the time we shifted from silver to gold would have been about the right length. Also, as I recall, we were all a bit more balanced at that time. Of course there is no way we could have taken on that final battle at that point in time but if it were scaled to our level that would have been more interesting.
I like the campaign format and seeing the characters grow and change over time. However, Hero vs. Overlord growth rates could have been more even. Part of what made us so untouchable at the end was all of our toys. I'd hate to think of what it would have been like if we still had Keldon's bag.
I'm trying to decide what I would do if I was asked to join another campaign. I really enjoyed playing, its my kind of game. Also, I do enjoy the character growth that you don't get in the one shot format. However, that was a long haul and I'm not sure I'd want to give that kind of time commitment again. Definately not any time real soon. Of course I know myself well enough to know I would have a hard time saying no, especially if asked by the right group.
Well gentlemen, thank you for your commitment in seeing this through to the end and thank you for being a wonderful group to play this game with. Also a special thank you to Scott for letting us play with his game, and buying all the expansions, and letting us beat the tar out of him, etc. |
